Do you find yourself overwhelmed with difficult emotions at times? Do the challenges of the world create fear and worry? Difficult emotions don’t have to be an impediment, they can be of great use in your spiritual journey. It’s possible to utilize experiences of depression, trauma or anxiety as a vehicle for awakening.

In this unique retreat you will learn tools for investigating and unblending from difficult emotions. You will also learn about welcoming all mindstates, and strengthening your centered presence in every circumstance. This silent Buddhist-based retreat will include mindfulness, inquiry exercises, neuro-psychological approaches, somatic/body regulation tools, sitting, walking, and time in nature. Participants around the country have found this work to be deep, experiential, and life changing.

This retreat will be led by two teachers who are committed practitioners and teachers of the Dharma and also therapists. The intent of this retreat is to offer a holding space in which each participant is free to conduct open-ended investigation into arising mindstates. It is not meant to provide a psychotherapeutic container. While healing or relief from certain conditions including depression and anxiety are possible and some of the teachings and techniques offered may foster conditions for healing or positive therapeutic effects, these are neither the purpose for nor a guarantee of any particular outcome whatsoever. Depression, anxiety and other difficult mind states may present life-long challenges to practice, but these chronic afflictions can be transformed from arenas of despair into priceless grist for the mill of awakening.
